Siniat surpasses eco-friendly and performance standards
Siniat plasterboard offers many advantages in an increasingly competitive market, representing a range of drywall systems designed to meet the needs of new build and refurbishment projects that require fire resistance, moisture resistance and acoustic applications. Our systems also provide thermal and vapour resistance when used in conjunction with other complementary products within our range.
Siniat plasterboards are quick and easy to install, durable, recyclable, aesthetically pleasing and of superior quality. For those who are not yet familiar with the Siniat brand, it is the international brand name given to the interior building boards of Belgian industrial group, Etex. In November 2015, Etex acquired the Gypsum business of Lafarge South Africa and rebranded the gypsum range to Siniat.
Siniat is available locally under Marley Building Systems, the South African subsidiary of Etex. It is one of four product lines that are setting the benchmark in innovative, sustainable and complete building solutions.
Our plasterboards are designed for internal walls ceilings and partitions in residential and commercial buildings. The aerated gypsum core is encased and firmly bonded on both sides with special plasterboard liner to render a smooth and highly functional surface.
Sustainably manufactured from natural, recyclable material, under rigorous quality control conditions, Siniat plasterboard meets local and international quality standards as well as Green building requirements.
At Marley Building Systems, our systems are governed by official standards, codes and rational designs. Siniat plasterboard is manufactured by Marley Building Systems in Roodekop, Gauteng. We are the first plasterboard manufacturer in South Africa with eco-specifier listed products to attain the SANS 266 SABS product certification. Our plasterboard also carries the esteemed Global Green Tag Level B and LCARate Bronze certifications.
Siniat Product Manager at Marley Building Systems, Nthatisi Vilakazi, says the company’s range of products satisfy a number of other requirements, including fire resistance with a SANS 10177 Part 2 – 2005 certification for stability, integrity and insulation. “As an environmentally sensitive company, we are focussed on providing products that are safe for the environment and for communities, giving architects, designers and developers the peace of mind to design creatively while ensuring safety.”
